There are several exciting development opportunities at the Colfax and 13th Avenue Stations. The purpose of this project is to update the Fitzsimons-Colfax and 13th Avenue Station Area Plan and prepare a new Urban Renewal Plan for the area. These plans will capture the community's vision and collectively plan for new development and public improvements in this important area of Aurora.

The current plan for the area was adopted in 2009, but we know a lot has changed in the past 15 years! Through an analysis of current conditions and community engagement, the goal is to create and adopt two plans that will reflect the city’s current needs and address land use, transportation, housing, and public improvements.

City staff is developing recommendations and strategies that address many of the important topics that were shared by the public this Spring. Community members will have an opportunity to review and comment on these recommendations this summer.

Thanks to everyone who attended our second public meeting in December 2024. We are working to finalize the draft plan that will ultimately to the City Council for review and approval in early 2025.
