The city of Aurora is making plans to design and construct a new park near the Central Recreation Center, located at 18150 E. Vassar Place. This 12-acre park will add to the recreation center project by providing outdoor recreation activities and spaces for residents. The park design will complement and enhance the existing recreation center. Aurora Water will partner with PROS during the public meetings regarding the irrigation pond and Hutchinson Channel.
As of March 6, 2025, three public meetings have been hosted, three surveys have been conducted, and the preferred Master Plan has been presented to the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board (PRAB). The following is the presentation that was presented to PRAB on March 5, 2025:
Once the master plan is complete and approved, future construction phasing and timing for implementation will be dependent on budget and staffing.

La ciudad de Aurora está haciendo planes para diseñar y construir un nuevo parque cerca del Centro Recreativo Central, ubicado en 18150 E. Vassar Place. Este parque de 12 acres se sumará al proyecto del centro recreativo al brindar actividades y espacios recreativos al aire libre para los residentes. After the public meeting, staff and consultants will refine the ideas presented at the public meeting to begin to finalize a master plan that will be presented at the public hearing for approval.

A public hearing will be held by the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board (PRAB), during the meeting there will be a public comment period. PRAB will make a formal recommendation to City Council regarding the master plan.
