Wemlinger Water Purification Facility

The Wemlinger Water Purification Facility (WPF) is being upgraded to modernize aging equipment, improve processes, and prepare the plant to treat water from multiple sources. Delivered in three coordinated phases, the project will enhance water quality, expand treatment capacity, and help provide safe, reliable drinking water to Aurora communities for years to come.

  • Share Hello. Thanks for the presentation. I can't find here how to access the presentation or see construction diagrams that were part of the presentation. Also question on piping construction on east side of existing beds. When could that possibly start, and for what duration? Sounds like that would start prior to construction of new drying beds? The recording of the presentation is expected to be posted next week, between August 17 and August 21.

Based on current information, piping and electrical tie-ins may occur at the drying beds and Wemlinger during Phase 2 of construction, when the treatment facility is offline for its winter shutdown—November 2026 through April 2027 and November 2027 through April 2028.

Yes, this work must be completed before construction of the sediment drying beds can begin.
