Sagebrush Park Playground Renovation Project
Aurora Parks, Recreation & Open Space is beginning the process of reimagining the playground at Sagebrush Park and community input will help shape what comes next.
As plans move forward for a new play space, we want to hear from the people who use the park most. Your feedback will help inform future playground features, accessibility considerations and overall priorities for the site.
This project will move through several phases, including community engagement, design, permitting and construction. While the process will take time, our goal is to create a safe, welcoming and updated playground that reflects the needs of the Sagebrush community.

Open Space Department (PROS) wanted to share a quick update on the Sagebrush Park playground area as we continue working toward the future design of the site. While the planning process for the future playground continues, PROS is happy to share that we will be providing some temporary play opportunities at the park in the interim. The temporary installation will add several interactive, musically themed play features to the site. Please see the image for the layout and examples of the equipment.The new equipment will be located near the existing swing set and spring riders, which will remain available for use. In addition to providing musically themed equipment on the existing concrete plaza areas, a 1,560-square-foot artificial turf area will cover the old playground surfacing to provide additional play space.
As for timing, the equipment is anticipated to be installed in early October. The timing for the artificial turf will be determined separately and is dependent on the removal of turf from two soccer fields at Aurora Sports Park later this fall, likely November.

El Departamento de Parques, Recreación y Espacios Abiertos (PROS) de la Ciudad de Aurora quiere compartir una breve actualización sobre el área de juegos de Sagebrush Park mientras seguimos trabajando en el diseño futuro del lugar.
Aunque el proceso de planeación para el nuevo espacio de juegos continúa, PROS se complace en informar que instalaremos algunas opciones temporales para jugar mientras tanto. La instalación temporal incluirá varios juegos interactivos con un tema musical. Consulte la imagen para ver el diseño y algunos ejemplos del equipo.
El nuevo equipo estará ubicado cerca de los columpios y juegos de resorte que ya existen, los cuales seguirán disponibles para su uso. Además de instalar juegos con tema musical en las áreas de concreto que ya existen, se colocará un área de pasto artificial de 1,560 pies cuadrados sobre la superficie del antiguo espacio de juegos. Esto proporcionará más espacio para jugar.
En cuanto al tiempo de instalación, se espera que el nuevo equipo se instale a principios de octubre. La fecha para instalar el pasto artificial se determinará por separado y dependerá de cuándo se retire el pasto de dos campos de futbol en Aurora Sports Park más adelante este otoño, probablemente en noviembre.
