The city has launched a project, funded via a state grant, to replace the Laredo Street bridge over the High Line Canal between East 16th Avenue and East 17th Place.
The project will evaluate, design and construct a new Laredo Street bridge that will be safer and rideable. The work will include environmental clearances, minor road and channel improvements, and wider sidewalks.
Design should be complete this fall (2026), with anticipated construction in spring 2027.
