The city has launched a grant-funded project to replace the Laredo Street bridge over the High Line Canal between East 16th Avenue and East 17th Place.
The project will evaluate, design and construct a new Laredo Street bridge that will be safer and rideable. The work will include environmental clearances, minor road and channel improvements, and wider sidewalks.
The environmental study and design are occurring in 2025 and 2026, with anticipated construction in 2027.

Thanks for reaching out. The new bridge is culvert (concrete box culvert) that is made to look like the original bridge, which was built with girders. The replacement is a culvert, not a high-dollar bridge, although culverts are considered to be bridges. The culvert will be made to look like the original due to requirements from CDOT and the Aurora Historical Society.
