The city of Aurora has launched a project to improve safety and mobility for all types of users of intersections within the "triangle" of Havana Street, 11th Avenue and Del Mar Parkway.

The project team is currently working on a concept design that was featured at our 2022 Walk, Bike, Drive, Learn Event. The team will then finalize design in winter 2023 and construction will begin in spring 2024. The city was awarded grant funding for construction. Improvements will be made to pedestrian and bus stop facilities, traffic signals, and lane striping.

As part of these improvements, the northwest corner of Havana Park will be impacted to modify a drainage outlet structure, construct a curb ramp, and install a traffic signal pole, which will provide safer and enhanced pedestrian access to the park.

Construction within the park will occur sometime in the second half of 2024. During this time, signage will be posted if a detour is required to access Havana Park.
