Background

In 2022, the city of Aurora launched a project to improve safety and mobility for all types of users of intersections within the "triangle" of Havana Street, 11th Avenue and Del Mar Parkway.

The project team presented a concept design that was featured at our 2022 Walk, Bike, Drive, Learn Event. The team then finalized the design in winter 2023. The city was awarded grant funding for construction.

As part of these improvements, the northwest corner of Havana Park will be impacted to modify a drainage outlet structure, construct a curb ramp, and install a traffic signal pole, which will provide safer and enhanced pedestrian access to the park.
