Show off your favorite fandoms through art - fan art, fan fiction, cosplay and more!
Virtual Aurora Mini Con is back! Join us Aug. 28 & 29 online for a weekend of fun celebrating all things pop culture! Throughout August, celebrate your favorite characters and series with our Fandom Contests! More details below.
By entering these contests, you give Aurora Public Library permission to share your photo or work on our website and social media as well as publish it in our community zine (coming September 2021). All entries must be rated PG. Aurora Public Library reserves the right to not share entries that are more mature than PG.
Send entries to APLReadingRocks@AuroraGov.org, post it here on Engage Aurora, or tag APL on social media. Please include your name and phone number or email address with your entry so we can contact you if you win! All entries must be submitted by 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 27 to be entered into the contest.

Cosplay Contest
All ages
Show us your favorite cosplay or costume! Winners will be selected by popular vote via Facebook and Engage Aurora.
Fan Art Contest
All ages
Charcoal, crayons watercolors, clay – we want to see your fan art in every and any medium! Winners will be selected by popular vote via Facebook and Engage Aurora.
Flash Fan Fiction
Teens & Adults
Can you tell a story in just 250 words? Send us your best flash fan fiction for your favorite fandom – 250 words or less! Winners will be selected by popular vote via Facebook and Engage Aurora.
Sidewalk Chalk Contest
All ages
Show us your favorite fandom in sidewalk chalk! Draw your favorite character or fandom on the sidewalk outside of the library or at home. Take a photo to share digitally with APL, or ask a librarian at your library to take a photo.
Visit Central, Hoffman, Mission Viejo or Tallyn’s Reach Libraries on the dates below to draw at the library. Visit the Youth Services (Central) or main desks to get a piece of sidewalk chalk. Winners will be selected by popular vote via Facebook and Engage Aurora.

Pokémon in Aurora Contest
All ages
Take an AR photo of a Pokémon in “Pokémon Go” at an Aurora landmark (a library, the museum, a park, a piece of public art, etc.). Three random entries will be selected to win a prize.
