The city of Aurora is in the design phase of a priority project that will construct a multi-use trail to close the gap between Colfax Avenue and recent improvements constructed north of I-70. Building this priority section of the trail will complete one of the final gaps in the 71-mile High Line Canal Trail system. The project is currently in the design phase. Trail completion is expected in 2023. Project highlights include:

  • Nearly two miles of new multi-use trail
  • Continuous 8-foot wide concrete trail with 2-foot shoulders
  • Pedestrian bridge over I-70
  • Improved railroad crossing to promote pedestrian and cyclist safety
  • Access to 71-mile High Line Canal Trail network with connections to the existing trail on both ends of the project

The project's virtual open house in now available!
