Who is leading the police chief search efforts?

Public Sector Search & Consulting, Inc. (PSSC) is a California-based consultancy that specializes in the recruitment of police executives. It will work with the city management team and Interim Chief Daniel J. Oates, who served as Aurora’s police chief from 2005 to 2014, in identifying exemplary police chief candidates who will be effective in building morale at the Aurora Police Department, maintaining transparency with the media and the community, furthering the city’s comprehensive, systemic public safety changes, and tackling crime concerns across the city.

PSSC has conducted more than 40 police executive searches in recent years, most recently in major U.S. cities like San Jose, Calif., Raleigh, N.C., and Albuquerque, N.M., but it also has recent experience working with the cities of Northglenn, Boulder, Thornton and Wheat Ridge in Colorado.
