Mosaic of Cultures: Aurora’s Filipino Community

The Aurora History Museum and the Office of International and Immigrant Affairs will highlight Aurora’s Filipino population with a new exhibition, “A Mosaic of Cultures: Aurora’s Filipino Community,” set to open from April 2026 to April 2027. The new exhibit aims to increase awareness of the Filipino community’s contributions to the overall history of the city and highlight individuals, businesses owners, and their cultural traditions and history.

The Museum understands the necessity of creating exhibitions that allow for greater community participation and invites community organizations and Aurora residents to guide this exhibit by sharing their ideas. The main goal for this public engagement is to gather information regarding our local Filipino community and allow residents to have input in the exhibit's direction and the stories told within the exhibition.
