Proclaiming Aurora's Black History Exhibit Survey

In July 2026, the Aurora History Museum will open "Proclaiming Aurora’s Black History," a new exhibit adapted from the Boulder History Museum’s Proclaiming Colorado’s Black History. Guided by its mission to engage the community and celebrate local heritage, the museum will collaborate with community leaders to highlight the stories of Black Aurorans. This project seeks to inspire pride, foster dialogue and broaden understanding of Aurora’s history by bringing forward voices and experiences that have long shaped the city.
